As it known, the US Republicans Institute (IRI) Baku office and the Election Headquarters of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) reached an agreement on holding trainings for election observers. According to this cooperation, IRI experts held a 4-day seminar for ACSDA EH trainers group consisting of 15 persons.
The trainings organized on the initiative of ACSDFA EH head Maharram Zulfugarli, and IRI director on Azerbaijan Jake Johns, are especially revolved around leadership, authority and strategic problems of the organization related to the presidential elections. IRI program coordinator Elchin Rzayev, IRI program assistant Lala Jumayeva and ACSDA EH lawyers on international issues Irada Tagiyeva took an active part in organizing the seminars.

The members of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan Election Headquarters (ACSDA EH) continue meetings with international organizations related to the presidential elections - 2008. The head of the ACSDA EH Maharram Zulfugarli met with Julian Markard-Narten and .Maryam Haji-Ismayilova, the senior officials of OSCE Baku office. M. Zulfugarli gave broad information about ACSDA’s activity on the sphere of civil society development, and the works realized by EH in municipal elections-2004 and parliamentary elections-2005. He also informed the OSCE officials about the election enlightenment, monitoring of the elections, exit poll and quick count operations to be realized by the EH. Besides, M. Zulfugarli talked about the books, prepared by EH expert group, international conference, changes proposed to the Election Code, Bulgaria and US visits of EH members.
