 The delegation of the CIS observation mission, headed by chief of headquarters Yevgeny Sloboda, met with the chairperson of the Civil Board of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Shalala Mammadova on Oct. 29. Chairperson of the Board mentioned her confidence that the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan to be held on Nov. 7 will take place in a democratic manner, a source at the Supreme Court told Trend. According to her, the complaints by the voters are considered by the courts as required by law. According to Sloboda, they arrived in Azerbaijan to observe the parliamentary elections and have not yet faced any serious violation of the law during the period of the campaign. According to him, they witnessed the creation of equal conditions for all candidates. The head of the mission mentioned the satisfactory work done by the CEC countries. According to Sloboda, the mission will prepare a report on preparations for the parliamentary elections and the results of the elections. A total of 859 international observers from 69 countries have been registered to monitor the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. TREND |
