 The members of the OSCE’s long-term observation mission led by Ambassador Audrey Glover met with chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov, CEC’s press service told APA. Mazahir Panahov said the Central Election Commission attaches great importance to the principle of transparency in preparing for and holding the elections, takes all legal steps to ensure transparent election process. Audrey Glover took interest in the activities carried out by the Central Election Commission with respect to the parliamentary elections. Mazahir Panahov informed the visitors about the specification of the voters’ lists, program for raising awareness, pre-election situation, future activities. Audrey Glover said 22 long-term observers will come to Azerbaijan on September 30, short-term observers will arrive on November 3. The sides exchanged views on the cooperation between the Central Election Commission and OSCE’s observation mission. APA |
