The Central Election Commission (CEC) decided to install web cameras in 500 polling stations during the October 15 presidential elections, said CEC Secretary Natig Mammadov at the Commission’s meeting on Wednesday, APA reports. He said besides the observers the public community would also get an opportunity to watch the voting process. Web cameras will provide obviousness in the voting progress and to fix illegal interference. The cameras will be installed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.
Each can visit the CEC web-site on the voting day and watch the elections. CEC member Akif Gurbanov said the population should be informed about the web cameras in simple language. He said some people could understand this step as a violation of confidentiality of the voting process. /APA/
