“Free, Transparent, Fair Elections” Coalition’s announces preliminary exit-poll results

 “Free, Transparent, Fair Elections” Coalition publicized the final results of the exit-poll held in the presidential elections. The coalition told APA that they observed about 2000 polling stations of 57 ConECs and held exit poll in 488 polling stations. According to the results of the exit poll 73.1 percent of the citizens included into the voters’ lists participated in the elections.

Voters are active in two polling stations of Surakhani Precinct I #30
|
 Voting has begun at polling stations #8 and #10 of Surakhani Precinct I #30 at 8 a.m. (03:00 GMT). An APA correspondent observing voting at these polling stations reported that voters are active to come for voting and the process is normal. 1 250 and 1 311 people were registered to vote at these stations respectively. ELS and ACSDA are conducting exit-poll at polling station #8.

 “According to the results of exit-poll, held by local non-governmental organization AVCIYA and the Independent Research Center ELS, the activity of voters in the Azerbaijani presidential elections comprised 20.2% at 11:00p.m. [local time], Irada Yagubova, the head of the Center, said. Åxit-poll is held at 800 polling stations, which cover all elections constituencies in the country. By 11:00p.m. [local time] 98% of data have been received and processed, she said.

Exit-Poll to be Held in 800 Stations during Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan

 The exit-poll will be held in 800 stations in 118 election districts during the presidential elections in Azerbaijan. Some 1,600 interviewers, 220 supervisors, 100 telephone operators and 100 computer operators are attracted to implement the exit-poll, the ELS independent research centre reported to Trend News. Exit-poll is held for the fourth times and quick-count for the second times in Azerbaijan. ELS and the Association for Civil Society Development will implement both exit-poll and quick-count.

Azerbaijan CEC confirms attestation regulations of organizations to hold exit-poll in presidential elections

 The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) confirmed the attestation regulations of the organizations which will hold exit-poll during the Presidential elections. “The organizations which want to hold exit-poll should have experience and technical possibilities in this regard,” the CEC Chairman, Mazahir Panahov, said at the CEC session on 19 September. According to the regulations confirmed by the CEC, the organizations which want to hold exit-poll should appeal to the CEC for registration 20 days prior to the elections. The organizations should inform the CEC of their resources, technical possibilities, place and number of exit poll to be held. Furthermore, the organizations should submit to the CEC the proofs on their exit-poll experience. According to the regulations, the organizations which want to hold exit-poll must be legal entity. /Trend/

“Free, Transparent and Just Elections” Coalition to hold exit-poll in 600 polling stations

 “Free, Transparent and Just Elections” Coalition has held a press conference on preparation for presidential elections, Salman Vilayetoglu, head of Intellect Research Center, member of coalition provided information, APA reports. To him, the collation intends to monitor 50 polling stations. According to the results of monitoring carried out by now, pre-election situation was satisfactory in ConECs, but there occurred several problems. Vilayetoglu noted that the coalition organized trainings for representatives, who would hold exit-poll in 60 polling stations and 450 observers in 15 polling stations during past period. To him, guide book and observation card were distributed to observers during trainings and instruction and questionnaire had been published. He added that there were people among electors, who had Soviet passports, had not identity cards and had not registered for various reasons. Eldar Ismayilov, Director of Independent Assistance Center "For the Sake of Civil Society" criticized media. To him, the coalition has carried out monitoring in media and there were 125 articles on elections within a month. Ismayilov accused media in not enlightening the people and called them to speak about the current problems. He stated that there was not analytic information on elections. “There are not specialists on elections in newspapers. Show-business news is leading subject of TV channels, but there is not any reportage on elections”, he said. Chingiz Ismayilov, head of Regional Development Center supported opinions of his counterpart and criticized media not to pay special attention on elections. To him, there are only articles on election problems in Baku and Sumgait in media. “There are many problems on elections in outlying regions. There is need for increase of awareness of people in these regions”, he said. Gorkhmaz Ibrahimlik, head of Democratic Election Center attached importance to active work in the regions. He noted that being NGO coalition they would take all steps to hold democratic elections. “We will publicize results of the elections”, he said. /APA/

Azerbaijani NGOs determined to hold exit-poll in presidential elections

 The Azerbaijani Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) have been determined, which will hold exit-poll in the presidential elections to be held on 15 October. Exit-poll will be held by the coalition of the ‘Free, transparent and fair elections’, which presentation was held in Baku on 15 August. ‘For civil society’ NGO, the Democratic Elections Centre, the Political Technology and Innovation Centre, the Azerbaijan’s Regional Development Centre and the Intellect NGO formed the coalition. At the spring session the Azerbaijani Parliament made a decision enabling the local NGOs to hold exit-poll. During a news conference, Salman Vilayatoglu, the head of the Intellect NGO, said that the coalition was established to activate voters and contribute to hold fair and transparent elections.
