Vladimir Churov, the Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, offers to study the technical innovation, which was used in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan on 15 October, carefully, RBK reported.
Churov attended the presidential elections in Azerbaijan and noted that web cameras were installed in election stations and the process was broadcasted on internet via on-line regime.
At the same time the web cameras broadcasted the exits and members of election commissions only. So, the secrecy of the ballot was followed. Every one was able to check voter turnout. “This innovation needs to be studied,” Churov believes.
Furthermore, CEC has no grounds to consider the issue on violation of the election process in Kemerovsk province, Nikolai Konkin, the Secretary of CEC, said to journalists. The Legislative Assembly elections, which were held on 1 October 2008, was carried out not by CEC, but the election commissions in the province.
No claim has been addressed including against the election commission in Kemerovsk. On 12 October 2008, the elections to the Legislative Assembly were held in five regions of the Russian Federation. As a result of the elections two parties- the Unified Russia with 84.85% votes and received 35 mandates in the Parliament, and Fair Russia with 5.52% votes and received one mandate. A representative from the CPRF stated that the party was about to contest the results of the elections in several regions. /Trend/
