The opening of the Independent Press Center, which will function on the election day in Azerbaijan, has been held. APA reports that as a part of the ceremony, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov held a press briefing.
Panahov said that some foreign countries and international organizations envy the election environment in Azerbaijan: “The main factor of the democratic principle is transparency. The best conditions have been created for media to ensure transparency in the elections. The media will face no restrictions in observing the presidential elections or directly participating in the process. Observers have been given all authorities to monitor the elections without interfering in the work of the polling stations. There are no problems with the registration of observers. The number of observers reaches 40,000. The number of international observers is more than 1300. Totally, observers from about 100 countries will monitor the elections.”
