The Azerbaijani Parliament will discuss the proposals on giving special privileges, including special diplomatic status to former Azerbaijani president and his/her spouse at the last plenary meeting of the spring session on May 31.
The parliament told APA that these proposals were reflected in the drafts on annexes and amendments to the laws “On execution’ and “On exit from the Country, entry into the Country, and about Passports”.
According to the amendment proposed to article #68 of the law “On execution”, civil lawsuit can not be put forward against pension or social benefit allocated to former Azerbaijani president and his/her spouse.
Following the amendments made to the legislation, the pension of the former Azerbaijani president is AZN 7500 – half of the salary of the incumbent president.
According to the amendments made to article 6 of the law “On exit from the Country, entry into the Country, and about Passports”, diplomatic passport, as issued to the Azerbaijani President, will also be issued to former president and his/her spouse for life, they will have special diplomatic status. State tax will not be imposed on this.
